Old one died.
The old Phillips LCD TV we had up and died on us. It stopped responding to its remote and to its set-mounted buttons as well. Other than that it turned on – it just wou;dn’t do anything. I would suspect that something was going wrong with it microprocessor. It’s been thruough a lot of power outages and such over the years and it’s likely it’s firmware got corrupted.
Mom and I went shopping for a new TV and picked up a Hisense 43″ 4K QLED with Amazon FireTV built-in. No more need for an external Firestick to get NetFlix and Disney+. It’s quite a nice TV, definitely an upgrade over the Phillips with it’s quantum-dot display. It’s very clear. A 43″ display is plenty for us and fits the sideboard/buffet we use as a TV stand. Only $189 – how could you go wrong at this price?
