Old one died.
The old Phillips LCD TV we had up and died on us. It stopped responding to its remote controller and to its console buttons as well. Other than that it woul d turn on – it just wouldn’t do anything. I suspect that something went going wrong with it’s microprocessors memory. It’s been through a lot of power outages and such over the years and apparently it’s firmware got corrupted.
So Mom and I went shopping for a new TV, and we picked up a Hisense 43″ 4K QLED with Amazon FireTV built-in. No more need for an external Amazon Firestick to get NetFlix and Disney+, it’s built-in. It’s quite a nice TV, definitely an upgrade over the Phillips with it’s quantum-dot display. It’s very clear. A 43″ display is plenty for us and fits the sideboard/buffet we use as a TV stand. Only $189 – how could you go wrong at that price?
